Bradford Cornell is an emeritus Professor of Financial Economics at UCLA. He also taught at Caltech for a decade. Professor Cornell has published three books and more than 150 articles related to investment analysis and corporate valuation. He has won numerous awards for his research including the Graham and Dodd award (twice) and the Bernstein/Fabozzi award (three times). The Social Science Research Network recognized him as one of the most downloaded financial economists in the world. He has also published a textbook on the finance and economics of climate change. He is a past Director and Vice-President of the Western Finance Association and a past Director of the American Finance Association.
Outside of academia, Professor Cornell founded FinEcon, a firm that provides expert analysis in litigation. In that context, Professor Cornell has testified in some of the largest and most widely publicized financial cases. These include the alleged attempt by the Hunt family to corner the silver market, the bankruptcy of the Washington Public Power Supply System, the collapse of Enron, and the alleged attempt by Wall Street firms to manipulate the IPO market during the tech boom of 1998 to 2001.
Professor Cornell is a founder with his sons, Andrew and Shaun, of the Cornell Capital Group LLC which manages money invested in publicly traded securities for individuals and family offices. He is also a senior advisor to Rayliant Global Advisors.
Professor Cornell received all his degrees from Stanford. An A.B. in physics, philosophy and psychology, a Masters in Statistics, and a PhD in Financial Economics. As an undergraduate he was captain of the Stanford tennis team.
